I went for an interview with Shell last monday and i got the result today which is something like "we regret to have to tell you....", you got it. Em.. it's dissapointing but i have already gave my best in the interview =(
I can't find any reason besides i am not good enough for the job. I would never apply Shell again because i don't want to get rejected for a second time. Well, even though it's a failure, i would like to share my Shell interview experience to those who is going for one soon.
It's a 45 mins 1 to 1 interview session and they already have everything they want to ask within the time frame, so basically you don't need to prepare anything. Not really, the first 5 mins they will ask you to show your certificates to them, you better show them the most important ones which you are proud of since you only have 5 mins. After that they will ask for your career preferences, such as technical/non-technical position, flexibility of work location etc.
Next session should be different for everyone but i will just state out the questions they asked me.
1. Describe one of your experiences where you were in a team and you are having a different opinion from other team members. Advantage?Disadvantage? How do you overcame it?
2. Describe one of your experiences where you have to manage/lead another person. What is the issues and how do you overcome them.
3. Choose one from four topics. Can't remember the other 3 but the topic i have chosen was "Manage Company Reputation".
- Use 1-2 sentences to explain Manage company reputation
- Advantages/Disadvantages
- If you were the CEO for the company, how would you manage company reputation.
- Others (you can say anything related to the topic)
That's pretty much end up the interview session. Em.. i am pretty sure you not only have to answer the questions but you have to demonstrate to them that you are different from ordinary.
